Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I'm looking for some ideas how to do that. I still want to be able to have the Seagate drive as file backup but cannot as yet do that. I still cannot access that drive with Windows 10 for backup even though I was able to copy and past files to the Seagate drive. This new drive letter is shown on my desk top for that Seagate drive. I was able to redirect it to the new drive When trying to use File History, so that I could make the Seagate drive a backup drive, File History points to the old drive letter that I had, even through Computer/Disk Management shows the changed drive letter. After deleting Seagate ManagerĪnd rebooting Windows 10, Seagate said I should be able to copy and paste my files to their HD.

Device Manager didn't detect any driver issues on the GoFlex either.I changed the hard drive label as directed by one of the community responses, and as directed by a Seagate support site deleted Seagate Manager as it is not compatible with Windows 10 and there are no plans to make it so. I took the actual hard drive out of my Win7 machine, installed it into the HD cage of my Win10 one, and tried to transfer that way, and the same thing happened.ĬHKDSK on the brand new HDD and the External revealed no issues - I didn't run it on the old HDD (though it's running now and it's the only HDD in my old machine, so I don't suspect it is the issue). When I try to copy any of the folders(I broke the huge 375 GB thing into 5 different folders) piecemail, the same thing happens.

When I try to copy the entire 375 GB folder, the transfer stopped after a minute or so and the drive and Windows Explorer both became non-responsive. I've put all of this stuff onto a SeaGate GoFlex 1TB external drive. I've got about 375 GB of stuff I want to move over - primarily music and pictures. I have a brand new computer I just finished building that I am running Win10 on and an old one running Win7.
